  • No Internet at home

At some point I will have to upload many pictures and actually write another blog post. But until I have the time to do that I will just write a quick update.

This weekend my cable modem died a horrible death. According to Comcast it has been slowly dying for the last few weeks from what they could see in their logs. My family easily forgets what the internet brings to the house and how much we rely upon it.

Brandon, who up till this weekend has not really used the computers much at all this summer, wanted desperately to play with his web kins. He even stated last night that they will probably die since he will not have time to feed them now.

All of our TiVo’s are complaining about not being able to update their television guides and both Danith and I needing to connect into work this weekend and not being able to. But we did enjoy some spare time to watch the Nanny Diaries and have a bottle of wine.

So today over lunch I am off to replace the cable modem and next week after Labor day Comcast is coming out to upgrade the modem to the next model which offers higher speeds. 50 Megabytes down and 5 up, I will have to do some speed tests once they install that and see what it is in reality.

Otherwise Brandon, Danith and I got our hair cut this weekend in preparation for family pictures coming up soon (As well as school pictures for BG). Saturday night we got out to see the Dweebs playing at Woodbury days and watched the fireworks put to live music. It was a good show.

This Wednesday we are heading to the State Fair so hopefully I will be able to get my pictures uploaded by then and post a good update before our Labor day vacation in Wisconsin.

  • Happy Birthday Brandon

On August 11, 2002 at 7:11pm our little boy Brandon came into this world. Tonight at 7:11 he was enjoying tearing open gifts as only a 6 year old can do. In a little over ten seconds flat the gift would be open and the look of wonderment would come over his face. Of course we could not quite capture it on film but a few of the shots below are close.

His real party will be on Saturday. It starts in the morning with a bouncy castle and 11 of his friends. I am sure that in itself will cover a full blog post.

For some reason only the first three pictures show up and then you have to scroll down to see the rest. Please do so to see the cool items that my sister sent us from Japan. Brandon and Aiden are having a gumball sword fight with some of the items. There are many things to choose from and we have sampled only a few. I am not sure if you can see the squid balls package but I am not sure they got the taste right. I tried them first and the after taste is horrible. Brandon tried them and at first gave them a thumbs up and then as the taste set in he had to run to the bathroom to spit up the rest. But thanks to Aunt Heather to providing excitment to his day!

Otherwise we have been busy with the soccer and swimming lessons, so no real other news. Will have a new post soon (I hope)
