More Books Read

Peace Talks by Jim Butcher
This is one of my all time favorite book series. If you are unfamiliar with Dresden Files, it is about a private detective named Harry Dresden. He is a wizard in Chicago. This is book 17 I think in the series.

The latest book is the first book in a two part series around several magical groups are getting together to vote for peace between them. Of course with all things Harry Dresden, things go wildly astray.

Wizard’s First Rule by Terry Goodkind
The normal fantasy trope.. Small kid from a small village goes on adventure with close friends. Finds out everyone is not who they seem/claim and needs to save the world.

Entertaining book and a quick read. However after I finished I realized there is another 12 books in the series! I will come back to the rest as I am between other books.

Seveneves by Neal Stephenson
This is basically three books in one. The first part is around an event that causes the moon to break into 7 large pieces. The world is of course shocked and scientists soon learn the pieces are unstable and will cause the end of the world unless society can find solutions.

The second part is immediately after moon fragments start hailing down on Earth on a regular basis and how the people in orbit try to live.

The third part is 5k years in the future. You will learn why the book is called seveneves and other fun secrets.

This book is soon to become a TV series. Amazon or Netflix, not sure which.

Children of Ruin by Adrian Tchaikovsky
(Sequel to Children of time)

Not quite as good of a read as the first book, see my previous post for that summation.

This book focuses on the building of a two world system before humanity is essentially destroyed on Earth. This second race that uses a similar virus as the first book is based on the Octopus.

The spiders and second earthlings travel to their star system and deal with the pain of communication between two different creatures.
