In my last post I had news, so here is it. Over the last few weeks I have reconnected with a friend I basically grew up with. About a year ago I posted a link on a service called Long Lost Friends where if the person I was trying to find did a google search on their own name they would see that I was looking for them. About a week ago my long lost friend, Skye, emailed me and we have been chatting back trying to catch up.

Here is a picture from back in 1981. I am on the left, Skye is on the right. My sister, Heather, in the back right and Skye’s sister, Erin, in the back left.

Skye’s mother was my sitter before I was in school and so I basically grew up with Skye. We played all the time and it was only until middle school that we drifted apart. It was a pleasant surprise to be emailed from Skye since we last spoke to each other almost 20 years ago!

I do not want to spell out her life since this is my blog but the basics are she got married about the same time I did and she also has two children. Hope we can stay in touch this time around Skye!

Let me apologize that I have not updated my blog in almost a month now!! I guess real life seems to take a precedence over blogging. I will have to try to get better.

Ok, lots of updates.. Lets start with the early stuff and work forwards.. Brandon and Aiden both had a lovely Easter. We had a neighborhood Easter egg hunt that had them running around a park finding hidden plastic eggs. Neither boy really likes candy but they still had fun finding the eggs.

We also hosted Danith’s family for an Easter brunch. Unfortunately her mother was ill and was unable to attend. But otherwise her sister Megan and her father enjoyed the meal and the boys of course.

Brandon got a new bike shortly after Easter and has been dying to ride it. Of course right after he got it we received another 6 inches of snow. 🙂 He got it out a few times and even though it is a bit big for him now he still can pedal it well enough. Aiden also got a little bike/trike thing. He enjoys riding that inside but can not get the hang of pedaling as of yet.

The past few weeks have been either spitting rain or snow, but I managed to get a nice (somewhat blurry) picture while driving the other day. So just remember that under every sh..crappy day lays a beautiful rainbow.

The other big news is that Danith and I are going to be putting in a tile back-splash in our kitchen. We were originally going to do this starting the 5th but our tile order did not come in until the 7th. The last few evenings I have been laying out the tile and determining what will need to be cut. The next weekend we are able to work on it won’t be until the 19th but I hope by then it will be an easy matter of just thin set, place tile and repeat.

I have other news but I will do a different post later this week on that!
